Part 2: Stunning Specimens in Tucson

Well normally the saying goes, "Save the best for last." but in today's post I just can't wait I'm too excited!  I wish you all could have been in Tucson to see these spectacular gemstones in person.  (the pictures definitely do not do them justice)

Just look at how gigantic these pieces were, they are taller than most people and weigh tons.

I loved this one because it is a large crystal that formed and then as you can see it has so many formations that grew off of it.

Check out this Citrine table, isn't it amazing.  I wouldn't mind having this as my kitchen table, dining room table, office desk...I guess you guys get the idea! Lol

This jade lamp was breathtakingly beautiful, such wonderful craftsmanship from the finial on top even down to the accent pieces at the end of the chains to turn it on and off.

This piece was so much fun, there was actually a line of people waiting to take their picture with it.  As you can see, Lisa just couldn't resist.

How adorable is this little mine scene inside the Amethyst.  My boys would have loved it if I brought this one home.  The picture didn't come out as clear as I would have liked, but check out the men working the mine on all the different levels, it even had a train with cars that pull what they find...too CUTE!!

Lisa and I also came across this great rough opal spot and started sorting through this large pile.  The funny part is, that after forty-five minutes of looking for the "perfect" ones the woman helping us threw mine back in by accident. Lol  Luckily Lisa still had hers so we didn't leave empty handed.

It is so exciting for us to share with you what some of these stones look like when they come out of the earth.  From far away, it may just look like a pile of rubble...but up close you can really appreciate the beauty.

The last day of our trip had arrived but before we could go home we went to visit one of our favorite vendors.  Look at the sea of tables with just a plethora of various strands to choose from.

My favorite find from this spot was the rutilated quartz beads with tourmaline in them.  These have such a great gemmi look since each bead has been faceted, (in addition to the classic combination of black and white) it really gives them that extra sparkle...and lets face it who doesn't like sparkle right!

In the end, our trip wasn't all work and no play.  Our final part of the Tucson trip is titled family and fun.  It happened to be our one free day earlier in the week which we felt was a fantastic addition to our amazing journey.  Until then...Happy Hunting. :)
